Brass Rain
Lucen Mire
2026
Fine metallic marks descend through an ultramarine field beside one uncompromised pale interval.
Acquisition
€17,200

Brass Rain is almost an event of duration. Hundreds of narrow marks descend at different densities, catching light without becoming a reflective surface. The pale vertical interval interrupts that fall and steadies the entire composition.
At the base, a low emerald passage reads as water, ground, or simply another register of paint. The work changes distinctly between daylight and low evening light as the ochre passages become more or less visible.

Studio method
The dark field is built through transparent blue and black glazes. Vertical marks are dragged, lifted, and redrawn over several weeks; the pale interval is preserved rather than painted over the finished ground.
Framing options
Blackened oak float frame included. Architectural hanging bars can be supplied for double-height placements.
Conservation
Avoid direct sun and high humidity. Do not polish the metallic passages; natural variation in reflectivity is integral to the work.
Transport
Crated vertically with vibration monitoring for long-distance transport. Installation by a specialist team is recommended.
