Orchard of Small Suns
Mara Saye
2025
A branching pale path moves through a field of jewel-like blossoms and dark blue air.
Acquisition
€15,600

Orchard of Small Suns treats the garden as a map rather than a view. Three pale paths meet without announcing a destination, while hundreds of circular marks move between flower, seed, star, and painted incident.
The upper field is held in deep blue; the lower ground moves through coral, emerald, violet, and warm ochre. From across a room the paths establish the structure. Up close, the hierarchy dissolves and every small mark becomes an independent event.

Studio method
Pale ground is brushed first and partially buried under repeated translucent fields. Small circular forms are applied with brushes, stamps, and hand-cut tools before being abraded and glazed.
Framing options
The natural maple float frame can be replaced with white-painted or blackened ash. Frame samples are available before confirmation.
Conservation
Display under stable indoor conditions. Avoid direct sun and high humidity; do not clean the textured surface with cloth or water.
Transport
Ships vertically in a museum-grade crate. Professional wall fixing is recommended because of the scale and layered surface.
