ORIGINAL WORK / VÉRAI ARCHIVE
Vermilion Field
Iona Vale
2025
A red field gathers botanical signs around two direct cobalt movements and one quiet pale corner.
Acquisition
€11,400

Vermilion Field places intensity beside restraint. The red ground occupies most of the panel but never becomes flat: botanical marks, scraped pigment, and short black notations keep its surface active.
Two cobalt arcs cross the composition at different scales. They behave less like drawn lines than cool intervals moving through heat, while the pale upper corner gives the eye somewhere to pause.
